Over 30,000 people have gotten “No Gays Allowed” trending on Twitter after Ben Shapiro, the editor-in-chief of Daily Wire.com, tweeted out a story about a hardware store owner posting a “No Gays Allowed” story.
Shapiro tweeted that the store owner’s sign is a direct result of the Supreme Court of the United States’ (SCOTUS) recent ruling in favor of Jack Phillips; a baker who refuse to bake a cake for a same-sex couple.
The Supreme Court’s ruling in the “Baker” case allows some business owners to use creative license and their religion as reasons to not sell products, like a wedding cake to a same-sex couple, which are directly tied to his religious beliefs.
The court wrote that forcing someone to use his creative talents to sell his work to someone who he believes engages in behavior that is not in-line with his interpretation of his religious belief is a violation of the person’s First Amendment right to freedom of speech and religion.
And as to be expected, plenty of folks don’t like the ruling because they see the ruling as the Supreme Court saying that there is something inherently wrong with same-sex couples to the point that a person may use his First Amendment right to trump a same-sex couples’ right under the Fourteenth Amendment to be treated equally under the law.
I know, it’s messed up. However, SCOTUS’ ruling is a little more complicated than that. And I advise everyone to read the ruling because right now I’ma talk about the USA Today telling folks to stop putting them into the fake news category.
The folks over there at the USA Today took to the Twitter to let folks know the “No Gays Allowed” sign story was written three-years ago and has nothing to do with the Supreme Court’s recent ruling in the “Baker” case.

Now, I understand why the USA Today folks sent out the tweet. The USA Today is a respectable news organization that knows the difference between the apple and banana CNN is always talking about.
So the last thing the USA Today folks need is for a three-year-old article to be linked to a recent Supreme Court ruling that is not a result of the ruling.
That will do nothing but place the USA Today on the same path of extinction that local newspapers are on.
And neither the public, the USA Today, or the company’s employees would benefit from that because we need the folks over at the USA Today and other respectable, decent news organizations to provide us with all of the facts and information we need in order to know about these folks and things we love talking about.
Plus, the USA Today provides jobs for folks; which is good for the economy.
Having said all of that, I have to admit that my favorite tweet about the “No Gays Allowed” sign is the tweet about Mike Pence. It’s funnier than a muthafucka!
